<p>The basics of the Roth IRA are:</p>

<li>Money is taxed <strong>before</strong> it goes into the Roth investment account.</li>
<li>Yearly income must be below a certain amount, for 2006 it was $160,000 per year.</li>
<li>Money is <strong>not taxed</strong> upon removal for retirement purposes.</li>
